Beautiful Sceneries of Umbria

Umbria is a region of central Italy mostly hilly and mountainous forest with lakes and rivers in the Apennines bordered by Tuscany to the west, the Marche to the east and Lazio to the south. Even though it is one of the smallest regions of Italy but its beauty is beyond compare and many incredible towns to visit. Nowadays, the rich heritage in the green heart of Italy, the region of Umbria, is becoming popular to be Italy’s one top tourist destinations for travelers. The region is known for its nature parks, largest lakes and rivers, stunning waterfalls, forest, largest fortress, old monasteries and an interesting mummy collection with a mysterious history. In Assisi, the Basilica di San Francesco is one of the most visited tourist destination in Umbria where it is Italy’s most important Renaissance churches. The Rocca Maggiore is a 14th century fortress with beautiful sceneries of the surrounding countryside that dominates the entire skyline of the city. The Piazza del Comune is the center and heart of the city social, cultural and political life of Assisi. Orvieto is a comune and dramatic hill town in Umbria. The Piazza della Repubblica is a beautiful square and heart of the town. Façade of the Orvieto Cathedral is one of the top three cathedrals in Central Italy which is a large 14th century Roman Catholic Cathedral in the town decorated with delicate sculptures and colorful mosaics. Pozzo di S. Patrizio is a historical structure well built for the Popes. Lake Trasimeno is the largest lake on the Italian peninsula. It is a famous tourist destination for camping sites and stunning when viewed from s distance. Among the accommodation lodgings in Umbria can be look through the different websites. Just find your desired travel destination in Umbria and a list of online accommodations you can choose from. You can book and negotiate directly to home owners for privately owned homes, villas, cottages and apartment accommodation for rent. |

Sounds lovely, the combination of history and nature is one of the reasons I love Italy so much. Well, that and the food.
