What Amsterdam offers its visitors is a great piece of history clubbed with the best of international attractions. Amsterdam attracts droves of visitors to it every year. People of all ages find Amsterdam a good place to visit because of the right mix of old-world charm and modernization that it has to offer. Go for a canal ride whilst in Amsterdam. The canals here are the most amazing of architectural structures and offer the visitors a picturesque view of the city through a different mode of transport. You can opt for different kinds of boat rides to suit your needs, which could be a houseboat to the most beautiful night cruise. Amsterdam is full chock a block with museums, and hence you will have been several of options to choose from. The best among the lot are the Rijks museum, The Van Gogh museum and the Anne Frank museum. In these museums, you will find the most intriguing of artifacts and full of World War II history. Take part in the café culture in Amsterdam. There can be nothing more relaxing as when you sit at the roadside café, sipping your coffee as you watch the world pass by. This is an extremely good way to imbibe the true Amsterdam way of life and drink beer or wine along with some Dutch cuisine. Take a walking tour around the city to look at the most fantastic of architecture and bridges and cafes. The places that you could take in are the Historic Centrum and the places in the Western and Eastern canal belt. These places especially look good at night with the fairytale kind of impact that the water and the reflected lights have as you cross the numerous bridges that are dotted by the most stately homes. You could also hire a bicycle and go cycling around Amsterdam. This is the most beautiful way of looking at the city around you. You can take yourself to the Open studios or the Open Ateliers as they are called allows you to watch the artists live as they complete their work and even interact with them. As you cycle around you might want to go to the Central canal belt which is called the De Negen Straatjes. These are filled with quaint little shops and boutiques that offer you great shopping along with the best of restaurants and coffee cafes. This is the place for you to be able to find the best scenery and the real Amsterdam kind of environment. The cobbled pavements and the criss-cross of canals is certainly unique and charming. Amsterdam is sure to please any tourist who visits it. Moreover, it has a lot to offer a tourist to choose from. |
