One of the most important cities of Germany is Frankfurt am Main, the heart of central Germany. It is the fifth largest city of Germany and considered to be the transportation hub and nation’s financial capital which stands on the banks of the Main River. Furthermore, it is a world center of commerce and banking, and an important centre of German intellectual and cultural life. Not only that, the city hosts some of the world’s most important trade shows like Frankfurt Auto Show and Frankfurt Book Fair.

There are numerous interesting places to visit in Frankfurt Germany. The tourist attractions found in Frankfurt: Botanical Gardens, Castle Tower, Commerzbank/o Tower, Deutsche Bank, European Central Bank, Frankfurt Parks, Frankfurt Zoo, Hauptwache, Kaiserdom Cathedral, Maintower Viewpoint, Messeturm, Modern Architecture, Opernplatz, Ostzeile, Old Town Hall, St. Catherine’s Church, St. Paul’s Church, St. Leonhard Church, Old St. Nicholas Church, Old Town, Romerberg Square, Stock Exchange, Trianon Tower, TV Tower, Westend-Tower, Westhafen Tower, and Zeil Pedestrian Mall.

Frankfurt is home to many museums, theatres and world-class opera: Applied Arts Museum, Archaeological Gardens, Architecture Museum, Schauspiel Theatre, Children’s Museum, Communication Museum, German Film Museum, Giersch Museum, Goethe Museum, History Museum, Ikons Museum, Old Opera House, Jewish Museum, Schirn Kunsthalle, Modern Art Museum, Municipal Art Institute, World Culture Museum, Museum Embankment, and Sculpture Museum.

The best time to visit Frankfurt for holidays is during late spring to early autumn, it is suggested to check events calendar first in order to avoid coinciding with the schedule of large international trade fairs especially if you intend to stay for some days.
