The Rhine River is the most important and longest waterways not only in Germany but across Europe. It is one of the world’s busiest and great transportation waterways artery with scenic cruises. It symbolizes Germans national history. The Rhine is one of Germany’s most popular tourist attractions due to its stunning beauty. The Romantic Rhine Valley has various tourist attractions to offer. It is known for its grape cultivation and winemaking. Tourists will surely enjoy exploring the castles, cathedrals, wine tasting, and river cruise. The most famous figure of German folklore is Lorelei. The Rhine River in Germany winds past Lorelei cliff which according to legend, a nymph called Lorelei lured sailors to their doom, causing them to steer their boats into the cliff. The Oberwesel town along the Rhine River celebrates every year on the second weekend in September its wine market. This is an event where many tourists indulge themselves in one of the prettiest wine dresser festivals on the middle Rhine River. On the first Saturday an excellent highlight is the Night of the Thousand Fires – firework spectacle. Burg Eltz Castle is one of the finest best preserved and beautiful castles of Germany. It is a medieval castle with Tudor style buildings and cone shaped roofs nestled in the hills above the Moselle River between Koblenz and Trier. During summer, the Rübenach and Rodendorf homes in the castle open to the public. Some of the most important medieval fortresses, castles and palaces lie along the Rhine River is the one of the most popular tourist attractions where guests can have a tour. It includes the Fortress Ehrenbreitstein, Castle Lahneck, Palace Stolzenfels, Castle Marksburg and Castle Rheinstein. There are many websites that can help you find vacation rentals in central Germany along the Rhine River. Some websites offer an apartment complex in the heart of Dusseldorf’s Old Town. There are some that features a holiday house rental fully furnished and equipped up to 8 people with 2 balconies on the south side which is very suitable for short vacation travel. |
