Travel To Venice

People all around the world, especially the die-hard romantics have on their itinerary to visit Venice. It is one of the most romantic places to visit what with famous canals and romantic and enchanting gondola rides as you take in the fantastic architecture that surrounds one. The entire city is steeped in culture and history. The main places that you must visit whilst in Venice are: The Rialto Bridge, which was built way back in the year 1591, stands apart from the numerous bridges that can be found in this city. It is made completely of white stone and has a huge portico in the center. The craftsmanship that you will witness; here will leave you spell bound. On either side of the ramp of the bridge are quaint little shops where you can pick up a few souvenirs and knick knacks. Next on your list of most seen, should be Doge’s Palace. This is the place wherein you will be able to see firsthand the blending of two kinds of architecture, which is the neo-classical and gothic. Inside the Doge Palace, you will be able to see the golden staircase, the 16th century prison, the famous Bridge of Sighs and the salons. Then there is the St. Marks Square wherein you will find the St. Mark’s Basilica and St. Marks Campanile. This is the best public place and the piazza sees a lot of people descend on it. This place has a lot of cafes, old-world buildings and pigeons that are fed by the tourist. The Basilica itself has the best of white marble columns with mosaic ceilings and statues made of Bronze. The St Mark’s Campanile is made of the most beautifully bright brick red stone. If you were to go right on top of the bell tower you will be able to see the entire city at your feet. The Jewish Ghetto is a quaint little region that has lots of tourists visiting it. It has been winding streets that you can leisurely walk through taking in the ambiance and looking at the large amounts of Jewish shops that you will find out here. There are several restaurants and bakeries in this region too. This is a nice way to spend a lazy afternoon. Lastly, what if you have come all the way to Venice and not taken yourself for a Gondola ride. Although this is what most tourists do, it is the most amazing thing to be taken on a gondola ride and be serenaded. As the gondola moves skillfully through the numerous canals you will be able to gain an experience that you will long after cherish forever. This is just the right way to end your Venice sojourn. Although the water taxis are far faster and cheaper they do not offer you the same charm as that of the gondola ride. Hence, along with the right amounts of sightseeing do not forget to get you the pizza, beer and gelato that Venice is so very famous for. |
