Visit Glasgow, Scotland
By Mike Eigen
With well over twenty museums, many beautiful parks along the river and within the city, wonderful music and entertainment options, tons of unique shopping areas and other such great features, the large city of Glasgow, Scotland makes for a wonderful place to visit and spend your vacation. It's located along the River Clyde and was once the for front of the fishing industry in that area. Visiting Glasgow, Scotland will keep you entertained throughout your entire vacation! If you are a history buff or if you find that your family roots are in Scotland then you are going to want to spend some time exploring the many museums, the Burrell Collection, George Square, Glasgow, Kelvinggrove Art Gallery, Glasgow Cathedral, and of course the 13th century stone Bothwell Castle. There is so much of Scotland’s culture here that it really is one of Europe’s finest locations and one of the most beautiful. Of course not everyone will be interested in the history of the area and Glasgow has much more to offer so no one will be left out on this trip. In the George Square area, you will find many different shops and boutiques, which will make for a great shopping experience that you will never forget. In fact, Glasgow's reputation for being "the" place to shop is quickly growing as the shops in the area become more and more unique. From there you can head over to Buchanan Street and check out the most expensive shops and boutiques in the area as well as fine dining. If you're not looking forward to spend a ton of money on shopping alone you can head over to St. Enoch Center, which is a gigantic mall that is located inside of a glass building! Don’t let your shopping experience end there though, you will need to go over to Barras while you are there because you have never seen a collection of different shops like this before. Glasgow is also packed full of different entertainment options such as Celtic Connections, the Jazz Festival, the West End Festival, the Merchant City Festival and the Glasgow Comedy Festival. With so much to do in Glasgow you will never spend a single moment bored nor will your family. This is one of the largest cities in the UK and its by far one of the most fascinating. You will never spend a dull moment and its one of those few destinations that will have a little something for everyone to enjoy. Those who enjoy unique shopping experiences will be delighted with the many different locations and options that they will have to choose from. If you're more interested in the history of the area or maybe in your own family history then there will be plenty for you to check out. Or if you prefer to have many different entertainment options then you will also be taken care of. Traveling to Glasgow might just be the best thing that you ever did! |
